Earlier this year, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) market tested the selection and the administration of the Long Tan Bursary Scheme (LTBS).  The Australian Veterans’ Children Assistance Trust (AVCAT) won the new three year Services Agreement in a tight competition. AVCAT CEO, Commodore Nick Helyer, said the Trust was delighted to be continuing it’s relationship with DVA, and observing that the outstanding academic success rate of 87% was a testament to the tenacity and application of these needy veterans’ children.
